Peter Pappas, Assistant Tennis Pro
Peter grew up in Traverse City, Michigan. He started playing when he was 6 years old and was introduced to it by my mom and dad. He first played at the Grand Traverse Tennis Camps during the summers in Traverse City, Michigan. He eventually started playing USTA tournaments at age nine up until age 18 and he also played a year at Albion College in Michigan.

In Peter’s words: “Tennis to me was one of the things in my life that was always constant and was always there. It has given me a lot of good memories and relationships with people. I owe a lot to the mentors I have had growing up with the sport and how they always supported me. Larry Nykerk in Traverse City has created a community of tennis that I will always remember and cherish. Tennis was just a good outlet for me not only to play but to bond with friends and reconnect with old ones through the sport. I have taught all ages and enjoy learning and teaching the game to anyone.

Peter’s hobbies include pickup games of basketball and beach volleyball in the summer. He has a moped that he likes to think is a lot cooler than it is, but he is hoping to maybe take a few dirt bike lessons out in Carbondale if he gets around to it. He has a loop machine that he makes songs on by beatboxing.

In his words Peter says: “I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to work at River Valley Ranch. I look forward to experiencing all this beautiful place has to offer, from the mountains to the people that live here.Peter grew up in Traverse City, Michigan.  He started playing when he was 6 years old and was introduced to it by my mom and dad.
