River Valley Ranch is a community with a big heart. Many RVR community members are actively involved in serving our community through participation in local non-profit organizations, support of philanthropic events, or just daily 'random acts of kindness'.

As an organization, RVR supports the efforts of many local non-profit organizations, providing community promotion of their activities and events and offering use of the Ranch House conference room for their meetings.

This section of the website celebrates the spirit of philanthropy at River Valley Ranch!

Aspen Valley Land Trust

Aspen Valley Land Trust (AVLT) is dedicated to preserving open lands for agriculture, wildlife, scenic enjoyment and recreation in the greater Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valleys. River Valley Ranch and AVLT have supported one another on various projects including this year's 2014 National Sheepdog Trials at Strang Ranch. RVR Residents took on the volunteer responsibilities for one full day of the Trials. In addition, RVR hosted the first ever 'Handlers Happy Hour', a great event, that let handlers and spectators mix and mingle over a drink and happy hour food. Habitat for Humanity

River Valley Ranch has a close relationship with Habitat for Humanity. We currently sponsor a 'Third Thursday with Habitat' build day each month at the build project in nearby Keator Grove. Many members of our community also support Habitat via their participation in Carbondale Rotary build days with Habitat. Recently a home was completed for the Adam Lavender family. Between RVR and Carbondale Rotary, we supplied 50% of the labor for the project, enabling a very deserving family to enjoy the pleasure and responsibility of home ownership. Each holiday season, RVR contributes to the Lift-Up Coat Drive. Winter coats in good condition are collected and distributed to those who need something warm for our cold Colorado winters. To learn more about Lift Up, click HERE to watch an informative video.

River Center

During the holiday season, the RVR Ranch House hosts an Angel Tree put on by the River program.  Residents of RVR participate in the program by providing gifts to local children in need. Residents select a paper ornament from the tree that has the name, age, and Christmas wish of a local child. These individuals provide a brighter holiday for many youngsters. Click HERE for more information on the River Center.

Roaring Fork High School Athletics

RVR residents are active in the local high school athletics scene! Jeff Kelly is the coach of the RFHS Rams Football Team. Their games are held generally on Friday nights at the middle school athletic field.

The talented RFHS Girl's Tennis team, led by Coach Audrey Ahumada, represents the RFHS in conference level tennis competition.
